How I got introduced to this drama

Even after all this time, Descendants of the Sun still captivates me as if it’s the first time I’m watching it. Streaming this drama has actually become one of my little rituals. It was in fact my mother’s recommendation , and I’m so glad she introduced me to it. So, let’s get into my review of this drama.
A No-spoiler peek at the plot
This drama revolves around Captain Yoo Shi-jin of the South Korean Special Forces and Dr. Kang Mo-yeon, a surgeon at Haesung Hospital. They meet and feel an instant attraction towards each other. However, due to their contrasting professions (one tasked with taking lives to protect the country, the other dedicated to saving lives) they find themselves at odds. As both are deployed to the war-stricken country of Uruk, they face life-threatening situations that test their beliefs and feelings.
Cast Chemistry

Main Cast:
- Song Joong-ki as Captain Shi Jin

- Song Hye-Kyo as Dr Mo Yeon

- Jin Goo as Seo Dae-young

- Kim Ji-won as Yoon Myeong-Joo

The lead couple and even the second lead’s natural chemistry truly brought their characters to life. Not only the main cast, but even the supporting actors share a remarkable bond, adding flavor to the drama.
Fun Fact : Both lead actors got married after the drama, but got divorced later.(P.S. Was really sad when they got divorced cause they were one of my favorite couples on screen as well as off screen)

Is this drama dubbed?
Yes, Descendants of the Sun is dubbed in several languages, including Hindi. However, in my opinion, the current Hindi dubbed version doesn’t match the quality of the older one. This might be because I’ve watched the older version multiple times and have grown accustomed to it, making it hard to accept the new one. Like there is this one scene where Shi Jin and his friend Sergeant Don have to fight a gang on the street, and a person pulls a knife out, and guess what Shi Jin says in Hindi ” Kya baat hai, yeh toh Rampuri Chaaku hai”. I literally had to pause and rewind twice to see this scene .
Watch With Family OR Not?

Descendants of the Sun is generally considered family-friendly for viewers aged 13 and above. Given its content and themes, the show is suitable for teenagers and adults, making it a good choice for family viewing with older children.
How I Rate This Drama
As a 16-year-old , I’d rate Descendants of the Sun a solid 9.5 out of 10. It’s a must-watch for someone who has just started watching k-dramas.
That’s my take on a drama that’s still close to my heart.
Until next time — happy watching!
